I received a call at work yesterday from a Ms. Rivera from Copeland Law Firm. Stated there was a legal matter against me for a small amount and was wanting to know if I wanted to take care of it then. I told her to send me something in writing. She verified my email address and said she would send it and that I had until the end of today to respond. Haven't received anything yet. Ever heard of them? Can someone go straight to suing you without first notifying you in writing of their intentions. She never even said who it was on or how much.

the only copeland law is in GA,and they handle personal injury cases.this sounds fishy.do you have a number i can reference?that would help alot as nobody can sue,or serve you for a suit that quickly.the fact that they refuse to send a letter via USPS,and have not emailed either says alot to me.see if you can come up with a number.either way if you ever had a pdl that more than likely is the small amount.to close you did the right thing in demanding something in writing.btw email doesn't count.it must be USPS sent.unless,or until they do don't talk to them and state that they are not to call you at work.that is another sign of a bottomfeeder.

So, this is my first time ever on a forum. I am having a serious problem with Copeland Law Firm. Similar to the story above, I asked them for an invoice on company letterhead. They verified our email address and never sent the invoice. They demanded that we make payment by the end of the month, and stated they would move forward twith prosecution if we didn't. This blindsided us as we had no previous notification of this debt-certainly nothing in writing. We never received the email invoice and when I advised we wouldn't have the money by the end of the month, they stated they were going to move forward with prosecution, and my husband would be going to jail for $450.00. Please let me know if this phone number (the one we used to contact them) helps provide any further information. I need to know if the prosecution is a real threat. Any help would be greatly appreciated. PHONE NUMBER REMOVED PER TOS

The email address that they provided was kkennuth@yahoo.com. Yahoo, really?! A law firm doesn't have Outlook?
