Call from Johnathan Biggs, MLA Corporation

Rec'd a voice mail message from Investigator Johnathan Biggs, stating that I need to call him back by 3 PM today (Atlanta, GA time) before he executes the order he has to my payroll department. After today, it is beyond his control. He said he will do the necessary background research to find out my exact position within my company and who I report to. I have not received any written documentation from this guy or his company.

As a precauton, should I contact my payroll department to make sure they do not process any payments that I do not authorize? How do I go about doing this?

The number he called me from was 404-991-6867. He just tried to call me again at work.


He didn't state who he was representing, only provided a file number that I should reference when I call him back. Don't legitimate debt collectors have to provide you with documentation? Like I said, I have not received anything in the mail from this guy or his company. I also checked the local court records and there is nothing pending against my name. All this guy has done so far is leave me a voice mail message stating that he was going to execute the order to my payroll department. He called me again about 10 minutes after his original voice mail message.

So I have filed complaints with the BBB, FTC and AG. While submitting my complaint to the BBB, I found that this company is not an accredited BBB Business and they currently have 14 complaints against them for Improper Collection Practices. That alone told me they are jerks and I will not respond to them until they properly validate whatever debt they claim I owe.

I'll keep you all posted once I receive correspondence back from the BBB, FTC and AG.
