You haven???t mentioned the name of your state. At first you should check whether or not pdl companies are licensed to operate in your state. If you find that they are licensed, then you will have to pay both the principal and interest. Otherwise, you are required to pay only the principal amount. If you are in a financial crisis and can???t repay your debts in full, then you may go for payday loan debt consolidation program. The following link may help you in this regard:

Hi,
As you say you have $12,000 on payday loans and you want to consolidate them, you can certainly consolidate it. You may either go for consolidation on your own, by contacting your nearest lending company or through a professional company. Tell them about your financial hardship so that they may relax the terms and conditions on the loan. If not possible on your own, you can also contact a debt consolidation company that will do all the negotiations on your behalf. You may also check the above mentioned link to get more information.
Hope this helps you..!!
Who are You dealing with
First of all what state are you in and who are the lenders. I consulted a debt consolidation company before I found this site. I had already paid the company when I started to research the legality of the PDL's and found out all of my PDL's were illegal. The debt consolidation company will not tell you that most internet PDL's are illegal , they only told me that after the fact when I found this info out on my own. They ended up refunding me 3/4 of the money I paid them. I sent out the illegal lender letters and placed complaints with the Florida Office of financial Regulation and have not received any more phone calls from the lenders or CA's. Two of the lenders have marked my accounts PIF. Those are 500 Fast Cash and One Click Cash. Please post your info to see if anyone can help with yours.

Hi,
Along with listing out the loans, please also list out how much you owe and how much you have actually paid with rollovers. Depending on the legality of the loan, you might qualify for PIF (paid in full) letters.
My take on debt consolidation companies? If you have limited time, they are the way to go, which is what I personally did. Bear in mind that they are also going to charge you for their services.
However, if you do have the time, you might want to do it yourself. You will be calling, emailing and writing letters, etc., so this could be very time-consuming.
Making Time
I work a full time job 40+ hours a week, have two small children, and a husband. It took me about a week of writing letters and making phone calls. If saving money, or doing the right thing in reporting these illegal lenders is important to you, you can find the time to make it happen
