I have loans that were taken out over the internet. I'm so overwhelmed. The bank won't close my acct and i'm almost $600 overdrawn in nsf fees.
Will the bank ever close out my acct? (usaa bank)
the loans are with: - from what i've read on the forum. I don't think that they are legal? Can anyone help me with these - if you've dealt with any of them?

Hi,

You don't need to pay more than the principal amount if the lenders are not legal in California. You can find all information and can also lodge any complaints you want to at the following place:
California Department of Corporations. You can either call them at (866) 275-2677 or make a personal visit to their office at Financial Services Division, 1515 K Street, Suite 200 Sacramento CA 95814.

I agree with what the previous posters have said. If the lenders are licensed to operate in your state, then you will have to pay both the principal and interest. Otherwise, you are required to pay only the principal amount. Illegal payday lenders can???t take any legal action against you. If you have already paid more than the principal amount to the illegal payday lenders, then ask them for the refund. To know more about how to deal with illegal payday lenders, glance through the following link:

Hi there,
Here is what I could find for you on the Dept of Corporations website (and I suggest you bookmark it):
Anazi Group: 0 license
One Click Cash: 0 license
Advance Me Today: 0 license
Ace Cash Services: 0 license
MoneyTree: 32 storefronts licensed, so I would assume yours would be too.
Check into Cash: several licensed, so I am assuming this is also a storefront.
Here is what you should do: work on getting the Money Tree and Check into Cash dealt with first, as they are legal and could file a judgement against you.
Since the other 4 are not legal, you do NOT owe their fees to them. Remember: the legal limit for a PDL in our state is $300. Even though you do not have to, we recommend on our site to just pay back the principal (what you actually got) to these companies, since you did benefit from the money.
If US Bank will not close your account, put a hard debit hold on it, as was advised in a prior post, and start looking for another bank. When I was cleaning up my PDL mess, I dealt with Account Now, which was a godsend. You can get a debit card with them and even get bill pay. Best of all, you can be in Chexsystems and still get an account.
Most importantly, speak with your HR Dept and get your Direct Deposit moved. It's time to start taking control of your money again!
