i just signed up with a settlement program and i have two secured loans with heights finance and world finance that is secured by household goods if i enter a settlement program can they still come to my house and take my stuff help me also i live in ill

Do not waste your money on a debt settlement program....for starters, secured loans cannot be included.....they should have told you that.

And yes, you default on the monthly payments, they can come get the goods that secured the loan.

Unsecured debt...settle that yourself. DO NOT pay anyone else to do it for you.

Hi,

Debt settlement only includes unsecured loans for which you haven't used any collateral. You can never include your secured loans into a debt settlement program. Do-it-yourself debt settlement is far better than paying a company. The debt consultant will do nothing extra that you can't do on your own. Negotiate with your creditors, tell them about your financial hardship and ask them to revise the terms and conditions of your account and reduce the principal balance. Assure them that you'll be able to make timely payments once your balance is reduced. At the same time, manage your personal finances to make timely payments on your secured loan to avoid any discrepancies regarding your property.
