I live in FL and some used my account to get a PDL on line with American Web Loan. I closed the account after returning the money but they wanted me to pay loan fee...Can any legal actions be taken againist me under the bad check law in FL


Check whether or not American Web Loan is legal in Florida. You can get this information from Florida Office of Financial Regulation. But as far as I know, this company does not have the license to operate in Florida. In that case, you are only required to pay the principal amount. You won't have to pay any fee. Neither can they take any legal action against you.

I agree with what the previous poster has said. Illegal payday lenders can???t take any legal action against you. You are required to pay only the principal amount as they are not licensed to operate in your state. Check out the given page to know about how to deal with illegal payday lenders:
