I have several pdl that I am working on trying to payoff, but just out of curiousity what type of legal action can they take against someone that doesn't pay them off.

I have pdl with Ace Cash Express, Ameriloan, 247Greenstreet, CashNetUSA, Cash Central. These are all online loans.

Don't get me wrong I am making my payments but just curious.

Thanks.

since greenstreet and cash central are both illegal you not only owe the principle only, but anything they debited in fees gets deducted.these two places can do squat as neither is located/based in the US.however ace,and cashnet are legal and you should try to pay them off asap.go to the sticky titiled DEALING WITH ILLEGAL LENDERS.at the top of this very forum.again you will have to make arrangements with both ace,and cashnet as they are legal.those two can take action, but cannot garnish even with a court order as TX is non-garnishment.the two illegals again can't do squat.you only owe the principle on those.

I completely agree with Paulmergel. If the lenders are licensed, then you are required to pay both the principal and interest. The lenders can file a lawsuit against you because of non-payment of debt. Once the court issues a judgment against you, then the lenders can garnish your wages or place a lien on your property. But in your case, wage garnishment is not possible. This is because wage garnishment is exempted in Texas. Otherwise, if the lenders are not licensed, then they can???t take any legal action against you.
