So I got a call at work from these people who would not idenify themselves or give me their contact information. They said that criminal charges were being brought against me in the state of CA for loan fraud. Yes, I did one of those online payday loans. However, they have been directly deducting payments from my account, which I told the guy and also asked if they are being paid thru automatic deduction, then how am I in defualt. He would just keep repeating the same old speal about how he could try to take care of it for me. So I told him that I was not giving him any information over the phone and asked him to fax or email me this "criminal case record" he told me that by law he could not and that in 48 hours I would be served with papers in my state. I looked up various court searches in Orange County CA and also my own state (MD) and did not find any action against me. I told him that I would just have the wait the 48 hours and be served because I was not going any further with this conversation. He did not ask for any information, like address change (I mentioned I had moved from the address on application). This is a fairly new loan, and they have been taking payments so I have no idea what they expect from me...any suggestions? Anybody know MD Payday Loan laws?

pdl's are prohibited in MD meaning whatever loan this loser called and broke the law about was illegal.secondly since the loan was illegal yo not only owed just the principle anything in fees gets deducted from that.now i do have one question.did this waste of oxygen have a thick accent?either way you use any info you have to file a police report as again this loser broke the law with the call.then use the same info to file FTC complaints.go to www.ftc.gov and file online.then do not engage this moron further.a complete waste of your time to do so.
