247 Greenstreet

I recieved an email from customer service letting me know that once it showed the the debits didn't happen they would contact me about payment. I did recieve an email on Monday. I sent them a letter two days ago found here on the board and I've heard nothing from them. I tried to sign into my account and it doesn't exist. It just tells me that I am not able to obtain a loan at this time.
I want to contact their customer service again to see the status of my account but I don't want them to contact me. All my info is different...we moved in the last couple weeks so our phone number is different. However, they do have my husbands work number but it's his private line and he hasn't recieved any calls.
I am waiting for the other shoe to drop and I am not sure what to do at this point....Obviously, I paid them in excess of what I owe at this moment and I pointed that out in my letter.
Would you contact them? Has anyone had this company wipe out their loan? I saw another person who had also sent them a letter but she hasn't posted recently.
Thanks for your help. (I was in Colorado if that helps).
Hi alitschk, Unfortunately, payday loans are legal in Colorado
Hi alitschk,
Unfortunately, payday loans are legal in Colorado and if you want to know whether or not your payday lender is licensed, then you should contact Colorado Office of the Attorney General asap. Their official website will be "http://www.coloradoattorneygeneral.gov/".
As far as the contact details of Greenstreet is concerned, you can check out the given page: "https://www.247greenstreet.com/contact.aspx" for the same.
If you find that the payday lender is licensed to operate in your state, then you need to negotiate with them and try to set up a payment plan with them in order to pay off the debt in an easier way. If you cannot negotiate with them, then it will be better to contact a professional debt relief company for your help.
Take care.
savion please
the fact that 247greenstreet is in MALTA says it all.no foreign pdl is legal and the op should seek a refund since they state they overpaid on this.in fact i would file AG,AND FTC complaints as the fact that the OP was locked out of the pdl's system also speaks volumes.i would not give them any of your new info.in fact let your husband know to file police reports if this bottomfeeding pdl calls his number.why?because they will threaten illegaly as they always do.just know if what you state is true you owe them nothing and should not give them another cent,or volunteer your new bank/phone#/address.do not do it.
Savion~ I do understand the payday loans are legal in Colorado.
Savion~ I do understand the payday loans are legal in Colorado. However, this is an internet company based in Malta and it does not have a license in Colorado...or anywhere for that matter. I do know how to contact them so that really isn't the issue. I was just wondering what my next step was but I have no intention of giving them any more money.
Paul~ Thanks for your post. I do find it strange that I cannot enter my account anymore on their website and I guess that is what freaked me out a little. I can't imagine they would just close it out because of my one letter telling them to. That was why I was waiting to see what would happen but I feel like emailing them to check my status but I don't want to open a can of worms. I have no intention of updating any information with them or paying them anymore money. I will follow up wth letters to the other agencies. Thanks again!

am,
Blocking your account is actually pretty standard practice. Once they know you're onto them, they usually hit your account and/or block you so that you don't have access to your previous loan amounts/contracts, etc.
No worries.

I actually got the same thing I tried to log in and wasn't able to I sent them the information from the site they sent me 2 or 3 written letters to my house and 2 emails and after I continued to send the form letter they basically left me alone. They know they are illegal and I wasn't beat for them again!
I really wouldn't stress it I haven;t heard anything from them since April or May.
247 Green Street- and CA residents? Help!
I was wondering if anyone has taken a loan out from 247 Green Street? I'm in a HUGE bind. 247 Green Street doesn't offer rollover loans. However, I do take out loans from them (more than the allowed $300 for CA residents) which debit from my account every pay check.
I'm in a mess with other payday loans, and after doing some research, it looks like I'm going to try to fight this myself without contacting a debt consolidation company. My first plan of attack will be to close out my current bank account... which I am deeply mortified. I bank with BofA, and I absolutely LOVE them. I hate to leave them, but I guess I have to do what I have to do.
Anyway, I cannot find 247 Green Street on the CA Dept of Corporation website. I just typed in their name since I don't have their license #. Their website states their mailing address is from MALTA?! So my question is, if I close my bank account before they withdraw my entire funds ( I borrowed $600), what do you think the possibility is for me to just pay them back $300 (what the state of CA allows). They have a toll free number listed.
I just want to be knowledgeable when I contact them. I'm even willing to pay what I owe ($720 which is the $600 + $20 for every $100), but I can't pay it all by my next pay day. It's going to have to be in installments.
What advice can you help me with? I'd really appreciate it!
You can close down your existing bank account. Then you can have
You can close down your existing bank account. Then you can have a word with BofA officials and open a new account with them. I'm sure they will definitely help you in doing so.
If you find that 247 Green Street is not licensed to operate in your state, then you can pay them only the principal amount. You won't have to pay them any interest charges or other fees. If you cannot pay the amount on your next payday, then you will have to negotiate with them and set up a payment plan in order to pay off the debt.
There's nothing to get so mortified about closing down a bank ac
There's nothing to get so mortified about closing down a bank account as you can always open a new one with them itself. Payday lending is prohibited in many states and in that case you are required to pay back only the principal amount. But in California, payday lending is still legal. However, good news is that Green Street is not licensed lender. Thus you will be required to pay back only the principal amount.
I agree with my previous posters. Since the lender is not licens
I agree with my previous posters. Since the lender is not licensed to operate in your state, so you can get rid of the debt by paying them only the principal amount. Illegal lenders can???t take any legal action against you. Close your bank account asap so that they can???t debit money from your account in future. Thank you so much for answering my question! I really appreciate
Thank you so much for answering my question! I really appreciate all the support.
However, i'm not sure what you mean by "principle" amount? This is a type of payday lender that just asks how much i want to borrow up to a certain amount, and then charges $19.98 for every $100 borrowed, and then deducts the entire amount from my checking out during payday.
I'm fearful that i won't have enough to cover what i borrowed from them and what i owe other payday lenders with my next paycheck. i've been taking out other PDL's from other lenders to cover each other... if that makes sense. It's gotten way overboard, but when i'm struggling to pay bills (was laid off) and stuff with kids come up, i really have no choice.
Does anyone have any other knowledge on:

It gets very confusing when you have threads running in both forums

-amgarris: If you don't mind answering, I;m curious to know about the outcome of your situation with 247 Green Street. i've been scouring this forum for answers about this company but haven't had too much luck on what i should do. you say that you borrowed a loan from them and was paying back every 2 weeks? does that mean you didn't have to pay them back on your next pay check?
My situation: i borrow from them generally to cover other PDL's I already have, but they automatically deduct from my account on my next pay date. So when others say that i should owe them just the principle amount, I:m not too sure what that means. I'm currently in a deep hole, and I know that I wont be able to pay them back on my next check... not the entire amount at least. I'd like to somehow maybe negotiate a payment plan with them.
Any advice? i live in California.
Thanks!

i apologize for the multiple forum threads. when i first wanted to post a thread, i think i chose "ask a question"... and thought that asking a question would be different then posting as a thread (new to this). So I created a forum thread with the same question.
again, i apologize. I'm not thinking... just in desperation for help, i guess. i hope you understand.

Again, thank you for all of your help.
After 2 days of scouring this site, I think I've mustered enough courage to do this on my own and not contact a debt consolidation company.
I do have one concern. I have a current short term installment loan with Check 'n go which is legal in my state of California. How does this affect my situation if I close my bank account?
Should I notify Check 'n Go before I close my account so that I am not charged with fees? And because my loans with Checkngo is still open, I'm hoping and praying that the other PDL's don't find out my new account #. Is there a way that they can?
Again, I really appreciate your help in all of this. These past few days that I've been scouring this forum has given me a lot of courage to do this on my own... though I'm still scared! lol

Awesome, thank you so much for your answer!! I hope 247 Green Street works with me. I've been reading about them for the past 2 hours, and have only heard horror stories. Unfortunately, nobody has posted a good outcome about them yet. =( So terrifying!
-I have another question. (So sorry for all the questions, but I have no clue when it comes to this!!)
I've been trying to do research on one of my lenders called St. Armands Group. I called the phone number listed on loan document, and I they are being operated by cwb services. (i couldn't speak to anyone because their offices were closed today). I then tried to look them up in the BBB site, and I couldn't find anything under both titles.
I would really like to know if anyone has dealt with them, and how do i go about getting an address if they're not listed anywhere? Or more information?

All of these offshore lenders are illegal. Don't worry if they won't work with you. They're operating illegally. They can either accept your terms or get nothing. :)

Thank you for the moral support! It's desperately needed at this time. I've been trying to be strong for my kids, but deep down inside, I'm so terrified!
Do you have any advice on how to handle my legal lender, Check 'n Go? Should i notify them about my plan to change bank account numbers? Or should I make some type of arrangement to have my payment sent via money order? Do legal lenders send information to other lenders? I don't want to have to cancel my bank account and my illegal lenders end up finding out my new bank information anyway.
I tried looking this up in the forum, but couldn't find answers on this. I think that's my last "concern", and TOMORROW I'm going to start tackling this!
-Crossing my fingers!

Use a prepaid debit card or money order to pay CnG. Do NOT give your new account info to ANYONE!!! I wouldn't even tell them you have a new account. Tell them you couldn't open one.
Great, thanks for the advice! I'm going to have to contact Check
Great, thanks for the advice! I'm going to have to contact Check 'n Go to see if they'll take that sort payment. I have an installment loan with them, and it states on the agreement:
" if you terminate your EFT authorization, as permitted by Repayment Option A (which means electronic transfer), then you authorize us to present a pre-authorized draft to your bank account to collect all money you owe under this Agreement".... OUCH!
Also, what are your thoughts on the timing of sending cease and desist emails to my lenders? I know my account needs to be closed, but should I send it a few days before my due date? Or should I send it on my actual due date? Or does it even really matter?
Again, I can't thank you enough for your answers to my questions. I've been freaking out, losing sleep... it's affecting my kids and my work. But the time I've spent searching this site has been so beneficial, and has helped me so much!
What happened?
Rosie,
Have you talked with Check n' Go yet? I'm curious as to what happened... I have the exact same situation, and I don't want to be debited the entire amount because I've revoked my eft with them!
Scared....
Yes, I have talked to Check n' Go. They allow you to use a debit
Yes, I have talked to Check n' Go. They allow you to use a debit card, provided that you contact them the day before it's due. They were actually REALLY friendly and helpful.
I've been using a prepaid debit card...
247 Green Street Response Letter
Here's an update to my madness...
I wrote 247 Green a Cease and Desist Letter on 10/20/11. It basically outlines everything from the template located here on this website. In my letter, I also included that Northway Financial (which operates 247 Green Street) currently has an existing Desist and Refrain Order for my state of California due to their company being illegal. I swore this alone would've made them budge.. but nope!
In my letter I outlined all my fees that I've paid them, subtracted that from my principle, and explained that I would like to pay the difference of what I owe. Here is what they replied with:
Dear XXX:
We are in receipt of your correspondence. Please be advised that we have ceased all collection activities and all communication by telephone while this account is under investigation.
If you take a moment to review the attached loan agreement, you will see that Northway Financial Corporation Ltd is a Financial Institution licensed and regulated in accordance with the European Union (EU) Directives. As such, the laws of the Republic of Malta (member state of the European Union), not the state of California, applies to its terms. We provided you with this notice so that you would understand the terms of your loan.
Please be advised we cannot honor your request for a reimbursement for prior loan fees but are prepared to deduct fee from your current outstanding loan. We are prepared to offer a repayment arrangement. Once payment has been received, we will consider this account paid in full with no further obligation.
**Then they continue on to where I should send my MoneyGram.
- What does everyone think about this? Is this fair? I've technically been charged a total of $630 in fees during each loan. (this is not a loan that rollsover, but a loan in which the entire amount is deducted from my checking account. I've been getting new loans just to supplement other PDL's that have rollovers). I deducted that $630 of fees from my most, outstanding loan, and that's what i offered to pay back.
How should I go about this? I've already closed my bank account, but I don't want them to send me into collections. I don't know if I should take their offer, or send them another letter.
HELP!
do not pay them a thing
if they send it to collections then you can let whoever know about the cease and desist, and about the previous loans overpaid.do not give in to an out out of the country pdl slime that has no power here.if you haven't filed an AG complaint do so asap.just know they send the bullsh*t emails in an attempt to sway you,and get more money.that's all.

Omg... thanks for your response! I was sort of panicking there for a second! Should I respond to 247 Green Street at all? For example, saying that my offer is final? Or should I just ignore them?
There is a brighter note!!
As I was typing up my response from 247 Green Street, I got the following email for my DMA Financial PDL. (Some of you may know them as VIP Cash or Qloot). I sent my email to the helpdesk @ qloot.com AND to this guy, David, at david @ qloot.com.
So for everyone on this forum, keep your head up! I've got a few more PDL companies to battle, but I'm at least one step closer. I can't thank this forum enough!

I also received that email from the that is their standard practice. I haven't heard anything back from the after I filed complaints and let them know about it. They are crooks and there is really nothing they can do to you. You have your C&D letter sent! I really wouldn't sweat it they never sent my account to collections.
Update on 247 Green Street
Here's another update on the status of my battle with 247 Green Street.
They sent me another email/ letter today, and you're right.... the letter is basically a template. The wording is exactly the same as the first letter that I posted above. They just changed the dates on me.
Again, they said they're not able to "reimburse me for previous loan fees, but they are willing to remove the fees from my outstanding current loan". They did the same as before, and asked for 4 equal payments (which I cannot do and which is not what I requested), but they will consider my account PIF after.
I'd like to resend them another letter stating that I'm going to file more complaints and that my previous terms were my final offer. I just want to ask the kind people in this forum if that's the way to go. Just keep sending the letters? I don't want to be in collections because the same operating company (Northway Financial) has already sent me to collections regarding another PDL.
24/7 greenstreet
In November 2010 I found out about and had to help my wife out of 8 paydays loans. One was 24/7 Green Street. This is my personal experience:
1. Closed account
2. Filed with both the Indiana AG and the Department of Financial Institutions.
3. Sent C&D letters
4. After about 2 weeks received a email offering a settlement of the principle amount only ($485.00) divided into 5 payments of $97.00.
5. Paid the payments and never heard from them again.
6. Received letter from the Department of Financial Institutions on the legallity of the loan. Illegal of course.
7.Never heard from the AG that i can remember.
This was one of the few loans that wanted their money back and folded in about 2 weeks. They got their principle back only.
eeshoop, thank you so much for your sharing your experience with
eeshoop, thank you so much for your sharing your experience with me. This is not my first loan with them. This is actually like my 4th loan. When the loan was due, they would just debit my checking and I'd apply for a new loan to help me out with my other PDL's. After finding this forum, I decided to fight every single illegal lender I have loans with, including 247 Green Street.
When writing my C&D, I calculated all the fees that I've been charged during each loan that I took out, then subtracted that from my principle that I owe for this loan (my current loan). I figured that the fees I've paid before are null/ void anyway, might as well have it deducted from what I owe right now.
What 247 Green Street is saying is that it's technically called a reimbursement. And they won't reimburse me for the fees that I've paid to them before. All they will do is remove the fees from my current loan. Maybe because they're not a lender that does rollovers? And because they're full loans that i've already paid? I'm not sure.
I'm stuck. I don't know if I should go your route and just pay them what they want right now... though they're payments that I can't afford. I guess I can negotiate a smaller payment plan. OR... if I should stick to my guns and say, "hey, you're illegal. I want the fees I've paid to you before reimbursed and deducted from current loan. And that's my final offer". What do you think?
Yes
you don't back down.they are illegal, and any fees from previous loans should be deducted from this one.if that means that you paid this loan then so be it.if not only pay what would pay the principle.just don't pay them on their terms as an illegal lender has no real terms.hope that helps.

I have a question regarding 247greenstreet....i am past due on a $600 loan, which I now owe about $820.
