NextCard = Nestcard On CR

I've been getting some great advice recently about a time-barred debt that a DC is trying to collect. I have another situation and I'm not sure the best way to handle.
Recently, I visited my credit union to get a small loan for school. The loan office asked me if I had a CC for $3700.00. I said, nope, but she said it's showing on the CR and it's overdue since 2008. I settled this account with a DC in 2008. The original balance was over $7000 and we got an offer around tax season we couldn't refuse for 1/2 off so my wife and I paid it. Now this account is showing up on my CR twice, once as settled in full and once as showing the unpaid balance as outstanding and overdue. Who should I contact to correct this? I do have all the paperwork to back it up including copies of offer letters, settlement confirmation letters, return receipts, and even a copy of the cashier's check I used to pay it. Also, instead of NextCard it's reported as Nestcard. Strange.
Thanks!

Hi jer_mc,
You should contact the credit bureaus and dispute the dual listing of the same debt account on your credit report and ask them to remove it. As you have all the required paperwork, you can even send the credit bureaus a copy of those documents as a proof of the matter.
Take care

Hi,
Along with sending your documents to the three major credit bureaus disputing the wrong information that has appeared on your credit report, you can also contact NextCard and send them the documents of settlement and receipt and ask them to report correctly to the credit bureaus.
