Harassing References

So, things have come up in which I may have to give up my car. I purchased my car in April from a buy here-pay here dealership. If I'm a day late, they call all my references from when I signed my loan; my mom, my sister, my grandma, a coworker and four friends. I'm afraid that if I voluntarily give my car back they will begin harassing my references after they sell my car. Do I have any ground to stand on to make then stop calling my references and only talk to me?

You can make a written request to them to stop harassing calls to your references. You can also mention that you will file a complaint against them to the State Attorney General or FTC if they still try to harass your references.

SOAPLADY - with all due respect, please go back and read my original issue. I'm considering voluntarily giving up my car because I lost my job and can no longer afford it.
