I have been speaking with them over email and that's what they keep telling me, but I don't want to give them my debit card number. They would definitely accept the money orders even though they say they wouldn't right

Well no. Not necessarily. But, sending it and having proof they received it sort of covers you. Or, you could get a throwaway prepaid debit card, deposit only what you owe and give them that card number then get rid of it.

I've never used the prepaid cards don't they have to mail you the card or can you just use the one bought in the store?

You can buy them at stores, gas stations or, you can get one at a bank. They have "gift cards" that bear visa/mc logos that you can use as well.

I think the best thing for you to do is get a gift card with a visa/mc logo. You can have the particular amount that you owe in this card and send extrafunds your card number. In this way, they won't be able to deduct more money than you owe.

I don't think it is a good idea to continue sending them money order if they won't accept it. In this way your debt will remain unpaid and youmay fall into greater debt problems.
