Hello,

Trying to find best way to deal with 2 payday loans in Arkansas - Hot Springs.
Ameriloan - 500 dollars + 150 Fee.
OneClickCash 350+ 105 Fee

I've heard various reports on if legal in AR.

Can anybody provide some guidance/suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark Workman

both of these lenders are not only "tribal",but affiliated meaning they are illegal.meaning you only owe the principle, and anything in those "fees"debited by them gets deducted.go to the sticky titld(dealing with illegal lenders)at the top of this very forum.follow every step.dpn't skip steps.the first being to close your current account, and open a new one.again neither of these are legal in any state, and you only owe the principle with anything debited already getting deducted from that.

Contact the Attorney General's office. Katherine Rodgers. She is wonderful and very helpful. The interest rate charged on these loans is what makes them illegal in Arkansas.'

You can fill out an online complaint form and they will contact the companies on your behalf. Scares them sometimes, especially the AG office here just filed a lawsuit against Sure Advance and has another one pending on National Credit Adjusters. The AG office told me that I could pay the principal if I wanted but they even content that the whole loan is illegal so therefore not collectable and that these lenders are not going to sue since it's illegal for them to loan in AR.

But be sure and contact the AG's office and keep copies of your correspondence and complaint forms.

Both the lenders are illegal in your state. So you are required to pay them only the principal amount. If you have paid them more than the principal amount, then ask them for the refund. Illegal lenders won???t be able to take any legal action against you. Close your bank account asap to stop unauthorized withdrawal. If you have any complaints against the lenders, then contact with the Arkansas State Board of Collection Agencies. Their contact detail is as follows:
# Address - Division of Check-Cashing Companies, 523 Louisiana Street, Suite 460 Little Rock AR 72201
# Phone - (501) 371-1434
# Fax - (501) 371-1440
