I am wondering if and when anyone has received their refunds from these scumbags. If you had success, even it was just a PIF letter, please share how long it took and maybe some of your "persuasive" language that worked! and which company?

I guess I'm looking for a little encouragement. Today I sent out C&D letters to collection agencies and yesterday I filed compliants with the FTC...

Hi Leee,

It's good to note that you've taken steps to deal with the payday loan companies and their collection agencies and want to get rid of the debts. You can get refunds of the excess payments from the payday lenders only if they are not licensed to operate in your state. You should check out your state laws in order to know whether or not your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state. If not, then you can demand a refund of the excess amount that you've paid.

I have noticed in various forum discussions that people have received refunds from illegal and unlicensed payday lenders. It is just that you need to hold your patience and keep on negotiating with the payday lenders for the refunds.

Take care

It is very difficult to get refunds from the illegal pdl lenders. When you send a letter to them asking for a refund, they would tell that they don't fall under the US jurisdiction and other bunch of lies.

You can check out the following page to know how to write a letter to the pdl companies asking for a refund:

I sent emails to 3 companies that I had balances with. I used my online account history to determine how much illegal fees/interest they charged me over the years. I told them that I wouldn't seek a refund if they zeroed my account. 2 of them sent me zero balance emails. I'm still waiting to hear from the 3rd.

I have gotten 1 PIF after the first sets of letters I sent from Community Credit Services, I then got one from Everest Cash Advance well not them but the collection agency they sent my account to which called me illegally at work and made all these threats I filed a complaint with the BBB, FTC, and my Ag they reported the loan PIF. mypaydayloan.com sent my account to a collection I sent them a debt validation letter by mail and filed complaints in which they responded they were sending the account back to the original lender no more was heard from them. Integrity Advance was harrassing me well they called twice I cussed them out haven't heard back. Loanshoponline never responded to my letter, neither did mycashnow, Ameriloan is harrassing me now but I haven't gotten a call in about 2 weeks they last lady that called I cussed her out well. I have never dropped so many F bombs and other choice words. United Cash Loans was calling but stopped. Nationwide was calling my job and faxing things to my job I filed a complaint cussed them out, I have just learned from the members of this group to stop being bullied by frauds so I took my life back and it feels great!!

Good Luck Let us know how it works.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess I will just keep waiting. I got a letter from NCA stating that they "own" the account I created with Kenwood and for me to kindly send them $320. (they owe me $400!) It says unless I dispute the validity of the debt (I already have but will send another letter) that "this office will consider the debt valid". So - this isn't a debt validation, right? Just a shady collection letter?
Also Ameriloan is sending emails trying to strike a deal. I dread dealing with them...

Hi all, I came upon this board a few weeks ago and have been following the steps about getting refunds from illegal lenders. I just received a substantial refund from one lender, for multiple loans over an extended period of time. I'm going to refrain from posting the details of the lender and the tactics I used for a few more days, I want to make sure payment has cleared before I get into specifics.
I'm still working on othe loans I either have or have had in the past, and wanted to see if anyone has any information about receiving refunds from these companies.
-Bottom Dollar Payday: I've gotten standard responses from them, and don't hold out much hope because I do not believe they have a presence in the U.S. This loan was paid in full according to their terms
-MB Financial: They have simply ignored my emails. This loan was paid in full according to their terms.
-Nationwide Cash: I sent my first email today. Again, this loan was PIF according to their terms.
-Cash One: I sent the first email today. My loan is still open according to them, but over multiple loans I have overpaid substantially.
-Cash Yes: Same as Cash One.
Anyone have any luck with these lenders? It felt great to get the first one to pay me back, now I just need to keep pressing the others.
Thanks-
