...phone number was 888 387 1419 - his name was Oscar Bates from the Legal Investigative Department...lawful complaint filed against my name and social security number, wants a call from me or my attorney....couldnt speak a lick of english so I had a hard time understanding what he said... should i call him back... not sure which PDL hes calling on behalf of.... what should I do now....ugh!!

just another loser in INDIA that needs to try and throw out the bullsh*t.use the message to file a police report.then use any numbers either on caller id,or the one this anenome gave to file AG,AND FTC complaints.do not talk to the waste as it will only get you a deluge of calls.

Two of the three didnt respond so it has to be either of those two...should i also send another email stating that Im forwarding the vm to my AG, FTC, etc? Just walk into the local precinct and file a report? Not sure how this all works, just dont want them calling my references (a good friend and my brother) all the time... thanks!

do that and say you wish to file a complaint as this person is harrassing you.they should send an officer to fill out the complaint.you can also go to your police station with your info on this guy.you can do it either way.also i wouldn't worry about the dope calling others as you can just put him off as a total nutjob.that's what i did.

Hes already called my references and left messages referencing me on voicemail...i told them when they call, let it go to vm and ignore them.... I just wrote another letter to the AG of NY and will forward that to OCC and AMT via regular mail and email as well. I will get these DBs to stop calling, one way or another.... now Im on a mission!

This started happening to me about a yr ago. I had taken an internet payday loan- and when they started calling I had paid the total and owed nothing. They called the friends that I listed as references. They stopped for awhile- then every now & then they try again. They had my social security number and my checking account info. (which is closed now) They tried so hard to get me to give them permission to take the money "i owed" from my account. They always use the same script. Do a google search - payday loan collection scam. Your best bet is not to answer at all. Explain to your references what is happening & tell them to ignore it too.
They are creepy scum bags - I'm hoping they will be shut down soon...

I did go ahead and explain the situation to my references and they are okay with it (thank goodness!), told them what was going on and they were more than understanding about it. After receiving 6 calls within 10 minutes, I put together a letter demanding they abide by the C&D letter I sent, only contact me through email and usps (for record keeping purposes) and then went ahead and filed a complaint with the FBI online re the harassing phone calls and threatening nature of the calls. I know its not the last I will hear of them, but every time they do call, I will file another complaint. I have the messages saved on my vm at work and I had my references save theirs too.
