A sudden loss of job income has made it impossible for me to keep up my payments. I explained the situation and asked for a deferrment of at least 2 payments to allow me time to go out and get another job or find an alternative so I could start repaying again. This is my second loan with this company. The first I paid back through monthly payments with no problem. This loan I have actually paid back 2100 so far; the original loan was for 2000 and I still have 14 more payments unless, of course, I pay back earlier. I can't see why they can't give me 6-8 weeks before resuming payment-what difference does it really make if I pay it all off in, for example, 8 more payments therafter. I would still be ahead of the schedule. At any rate, they wanted me to come up with $100 by 5:00 p.m. that day which I could not do so now they are turning my account over to their attorneys and threaten to take me to court and garnish my salary. Considering I have a car loan of thousands that my creditors are helping me with and other bills that creditors are working with me on that are even higher than the 2000 I borrowed from Quick Click, why does this company have to treat consumers like this when they run into problems through no fault of their own? Is there anything I can do? I live in NH, if this helps. Thanks in advance for any insight or assistance you might provide.

Unless they get a judgment against you, it won't be possible for them to garnish your wages. You should contact the New Hampshire State Banking Department in order to find out whether or not this payday lender is licensed to operate in your state. If not, then you will be liable for paying them only the principal balance which you have already paid them off. In that case, you won't be liable for paying them anything more.
