So i received a letter today from Missouri Attorney General's Office and they stated that they would NOT help me. The letter stated that i should hire an attorney but that they would not get involved.

Is this a typical response? What steps can I take next?

Thank you.

The New York Attorney General's office answers complaints and helps victims from ANY state, not just NY - It is not true that they only help NYS residents. Debt collectors in NYS know to "scrub out" the names of NYS residents before they call, as to avoid being easily sued by local victims. If you go to the NYS AG'S website: WWW.ag.ny.gov, you will see countless debt collection lawsuits where the agencies have been sued or shut down by law enforcement...and in many cases, the victims have been from all over the country.

however the issue was that the NY resident wasn't getting help from the MO AG.not the other way around.

who was the party you complained about?you may have to file a follow up,or contact them about your complaint.some AG'S will inform you of outcome only, and some will contact you right away.i would touch base with them just to see.

that address for DJR is a mail drop only.they are not locate in the US and that might be delaying a response from your AG.let me see if i can come up with another address.
