Hi, I live in Virginia and currently have have 5 online pdl... Things have completely gotten out of control and I cannot keep up with them. I want out!

I currently have PDL's with the following companies:

Sure Advance: Loan Amount: $500. To date, I have paid them: $1,014.25

The VIP Loan Shop: Loan Amount: $400. To date, I have paid them: $891.

Advance Me Today: Original loan was for $400. I paid a total of $1,300. to pay that loan off and had and had to take another loan to keep up with my other PDL schedules for $600. and have paid $144. to date on that loan. So.. i have paid Advance Me Today a grand total of $1,444.

Cash Direct Express Original loan was for $500. I paid $897.50 to pay it off. And once again.. I had to take another loan just to keep up with everything else for $500. I have paid $475. to date on this loan. Two weeks ago I missed a payment & received a phone call from "Alliance Asset Management" aka the collection agency for Cash Direct Express GECC. Apparently I was sent to collections for missing one payment & now owe them $935.!!! To date, I have paid them a total of $1,372.50

24/7 GreenStreet Loan Amount: $770. Payment is scheduled for this Friday, 10/14 for $954.

Do you know if any of the PDL companies listed above are illegal in Virginia? If so, do you know what state they are licensed in? I would like to call my bank and put a block on my account and email letters to them but I am having a hard time finding this information.

Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated!

Payday lending is legal in Virginia. I will suggest you to immediately contact the Virginia Bureau of Financial Institutions in order to find out whether or not your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state. If you find that they are not licensed to operate in your state, then you will be liable for paying them only the principal balance. If you have paid them more than the principal balance, then you should contact the payday lenders and ask them to refund the excess amount.

Internet payday loans are illegal in the state of Virginia mate. You are only obligated to pay the principal amount on the illegal payday loans. Since you have paid more than the principal amount on the illegal payday loans, so you should ask for a refund. Call the bank and close your account. Otherwise, you can put a hard debit block on your account.
