Okay...need some advice. So much information on here and I'm stressed so it's hard to take it all in and determine a course of action. If anyone can advise how to fix this, let me know.

Two internet loans
1) CheckintoCash $275 due next Friday (pay in full)
2) VIP Loan shop $600 borrowed. Interest payment of $180 due 10/21

I have some big issues getting my account closed this week but I may manage to do it. I want to pay what I owe and get these guys done and off my back.

Questions.
1) If I get my accounts closed. What is the best way to contact these companies to arrange a payment plan to pay off what I owe? How do I pay them (money order?)
2) What should I expect from the companies if the debits go back returned NSF/blocked? I don't care if I get phone calls. I know how to handle those (ignore). But I don't want mail to come to my house.
3) If I can't get my accounts closed by next Friday, what happens if I just redirect my direct deposit elsewhere and these get returned NSF. Will they try to debit again?
4) Privacy is a big issue. My husband does not know I have done this. I am working to see if I can borrow from a family member to pay off the big one in full. However, this is still uncertain.
5) VIP Loan shop is the one that I am most concerned about. CheckintoCash is very cheap and I can work my way down on that one in a few weeks.

I live in Ohio.
Thanks.

Have you paid anything to VIP? They're not licensed in Ohio. Anything you've already paid in "interest" can be subtracted from the original $600. You only owe the difference.

CIC is legal in Ohio. You need to call them now. Tell them you can't afford to make the payment. I think they'll let you pay half and half. If that won't work for you, you can tell them you'd like to revoke ACH auth and force the account to collections so you can work out a payoff that way.

Also, I suggest you talk to your husband and tell him what's happened. He's your husband, afterall. :)

Thanks. You are correct. I should tell him. I'm working on that piece of it. I'd rather have a solution first before splling the ugly truth. :(

I have not yet paid VIP. Next Friday is my first installment. I would prefer to work something out with this family member and just have it done with on payday. But if that can't be arranged...not sure.

I have no issues with CIC. They are pretty stellar and VERY cheap. That is why that one I can paydown week by week and get out from under it.

Should I even contact VIP in any way? I do want to pay what I owe. But not in this way via debiting the account.

Get the account closed first. Then contact VIP following the advice in this thread on how to deal with illegal lenders. You will find sample letters and other useful information, shared experiences, etc.

Pay VIP on your time and under your conditions. They're illegal!

Thanks so much. I'll let them bounce back. Checking will be closed Friday anyway. I am not too worried about them now that I think about it. I will pay them back. It's VIP Loan that scares me but I know my rights. I'll pay them as soon as I get a payment address and money orders only.

I am sending my letter to VIP Loan Shop today and Check into CashOnline tomorrow.

Thanks for the help and encouragement! ;)

Okay...checking closed.

I am trying to work out a payment arrangement with CheckintoCash (aka Loan by Phone) but nothing so far has been agreed to. They want a lot more than I can pay right now.

VIP has been harder to work with so far. I have been doing my negotiations via email at this point. They are an illegal operation in Ohio so I know they can't zing me for any fees. My question is this...if the operation is illegal in Ohio (as it is in most states, I believe), do I legally owe the principal? I DO want to pay it, but I need to understand my rights as well.

If I can't work anything out with either of them, should I just send them payments via money order? ( I will keep meticulous records). I know VIP is not based in the US but I am not giving them any kind of account number to debit.
