I received a call from a payday lender stating that I had violated some sort of honesty in banking law, because my payday loan fee was rejected. He also stated that I had the choice of paying off the original $300 owed out of court or $5000.00 in court fee.
I never received any kind of written notice. Can they do this for 1-2 unpaid fee cycles? scared out of my wits.

there is no such thing as "honesty in banking"this piece of garbage needs to be reported.first to your police.then your AG,AND THE FTC.then ignore them.don't even care who it is.they lied and broke the law doing it.file the report and complaints and ignore the loser.
