I have an old debt from over 9 years ago but this could possibly involve an account from 15 years ago. Backstory: Midland purchased 2 accounts and then tripled the amount owed. They listed multiple accounts with the collection agencies which I fought and they were eventually removed. Placed again...removed again. They finally never reappeared 4 years ago.

Flash forward to seven years ago: It started out with Midland calling once a day for three years. Then when I finally "won" and forced them off my credit report, I started getting letters from Bennett Law once a month like clockwork saying I owed them for the Midland account and doubled the cost.

Bear in mind the original credit card was only for $244.00 and now they wanted $6,570.00. Yeah right.

About a year ago I start getting debt collect calls on my mother's phone. I do not have a phone in my name except for a cell phone.

As of today I receive the following calls daily:
Bennett Law--8 AM, 12PM, 4 PM, 8 PM
Portfolio Recovery--9 AM, 2 PM, 6 PM

They are both debt collectors. I have all these calls stored on my phone. I sent desist letters 8 months, 6 months, and 3 months ago. Each were signed for and ignored. I phoned Bennett personally this month and was told they did not have to stop just because I "asked" them to and if I continued to harass them then they would sue.

So....my question is, how do I actually get them to stop? Thank goodness I paid for caller ID about 5 months ago. Sure saves time answering the phone.
