Bad Check Unit

First of all, who are "they"? What state are you in? Are you PDLs legal? With the "bad check" threat, I'm assuming not but we can't help you unless you give us more information.

since this place broke the law i would just use the number they gave to file a police report.btw have anybody they called file police reports as well.btw there is no bad check unit for ipdl's.treat them like the lawbreaking bottomfeeder they are.there is no court date and again the broke the law in stating that to other people.file the report then ignore them and have others do the same.

So, I called and said I was scheduled to get served tomorrow, but was told that they will stop it for the next 24hrs so I can figure out a way to settle this matter. The loan was taken storefront from ACE Cash Express and this supposed collection agency is called Thomas Brown & Associates. When my husband had called they told him they were a collection agency, but when I called they told me they were a process center that work for the courts. I called ACE and asked info about this and said they work with corporate to pay off any defaulted loans and that there is no such thing as them taking me to court. How should I go about this? Thank you for any help.

P.S. I was told that if I settled it would be divided in 2 payments, if not I'll have to go to court which will total up to $2500

report them to your state AG.also check your state laws in regards to recording calls as stating they are a process server is against the law.just report them,and know they broke the law and can't do what they threaten.

Thank you for the help. I did get scared because they told me they have video of me, which is sufficient evidence to take me to court. I asked for paperwork, but they seemed to avoid answering my question. I do have 2 additional payday loans that I would love to finally pay off, so that I will no longer have to feel afraid. How can I go about this? Can I still deal with store even if it has been sent to these collection agencies?
