So, I'm trying to clean up my credit and I have an old, expired judgment that is still on it. This was a default judgment which was entered against me in Arizona where the statute of limitations on judgments is 5 years. Since it is expired, the collection agency can no longer pursue this and in fact has not contacted me since about 1 month prior to the expiration date. My problem is that judgments, as I'm sure people on this forum are aware, stay on a credit report for 7 years. Since this judgment was put on my credit report in November 2005, it is not scheduled to come off until November of this year. This has of course caused me all kinds of problems, made it difficult for me to get a car and impossible for me to get a loan, which caused me to get caught up in pdls.

What I'm wondering is if there is any way to get the judgment to come off of my credit report prior to November. I can't ask the collection agency, as they are completely unreasonable which is how this ended up being a judgment in the first place. I have obtained paperwork from the court stating that the docket is expired so I'm not sure whehter that would be something that I can send in to the credit bureaus to try to get it removed. Any advice is appreciated.
