I have been reading various posts on PDLs & have gotten some great advice and feel a little hopeful.

I have about 8+ PDLs (all but one, Amscot, is internet based). I am an independent contractor and due to the holidays (which means less work and way less pay) and medical bills (all of which are current), I am overwhelmed with PDLs as started taking out others to pay other ones.

I am taking the first step and about to close my checking account as have been getting hit w/ $34 overdraft fees 6-9 times/week as my bank is allowing them to go thru and just charging me. Plus, I want to close my account before the bank choses to do so and mark it for too many NSFs/suspicious activity.

Questions I have:
* how to deal with internet lenders as a Florida resident as I do see already that they have to offer repayment plans per Fl. law. I also see {from another posting} the email script to send to the PDL companies and it mentions a refund of monies if illegal in my state (appears in FL they are not illegal but do see interest caps). Does this mean illegally charged too much interest too? As I have had some of these loans on and off for over a year and 1/2 so at $120-$240+ every 2 weeks, do they owe this excess charged interest back to me (of course with my principal I still owe deducted)??

I will list the ones I know off hand, if anyone can advise how to deal with them/are they easy to deal with:
**Ameriloan (dealt w/ them a yr ago, believe they will do installment pymts)
**247 greenstreet (owe the most)
**ExtraCashLive
**Vista (midland company)
**USfastCash
**YourFast Payday
**Ace cash express
**Amscot (as local storefront, will handle this one myself, pay directly in cash)
*forgot the other one

Thanks for the advice & assistance as very overwhelmed!

As far as I know Ameriloan is illegal in your state. To make sure about the legality of the other lenders contact with Florida Office of Financial Regulation. You are required to payback only the borrowed amount to the illegal lenders. If your lenders are licensed, then you will have to pay both the principal and interest. If you find that all your lenders are illegal, then it???s better to close your bank account to stop unauthorized withdrawal. You can ask them for the refund, if you have paid back them more than principal. Have a look at this link to know how to deal with illegal lenders:

All of your lenders minus the store front that you listed are illegal in the state of FL. I am glad to hear that you are closing your bank account, once that is done follow the sticky on how to deal with unlicensed lenders. Once you have completed this then file complaints with the FTC and also the Florida Office of Financial Regulation. You can file complaints with the FL AG but they will just direct you to the FOFR. Most will tell you that they are legal and will try to scare you but don't let them, under FL law without the proper license to conduct payday lending the loan is considered noncollectable.

I went through 5 of them (going through all of my bank statements in detail and did charts on each lender) and found 3 of them with over $2k+ paid in interest {247 greenstreet which used to be Northway; US fast cash - actually closer to $3k; and Ameriloan}

The other 2 Extracash (around $1400) and Yourfast payday (about $800)

As my bank allowed some of the last payments to clear (charging me $34 NSF a pop), will not be until the end of the month for some of them to realize what happened(so starting to get ready in advance). 247Greenstreet appears will be the first!

Thanks for your assistance and will keep everyone updated on my journey.
