I have a loan outstanding from St.Armands group. I got a call today from National Lawyers saying there are two summons that will go out today if I don't reach a settlement
One for breach of contract and another for a bounced check. The person also told me I would have to pay all court cost if I don't settle. I live in Illinois and got the loan online
I just want to make sure I have all my facts right before I negotiate

no offense nelly, but social answers is useless.the OP got a "look it up"response followed by a parrot post.sorry being as i'm in IL i can state that this is an out of the country and illegal pdl.therefore the call is not legit.nor is any allegations contained in it.i would reply to that this way next time they call.

i know the loan was illegal, and therefore there is no case,or cases on an illegal contract.i'm filing AG and FTC complaints against st.armans, and using any info i have on you to file as well.i will file a polie report as the threats you spewed are illegal as well.i am not paying a voice over the phone that needs to use scare tactics.then hangup.
respond that way,and do file complaints as while the response about pdl's was right they are legal, but 98%of onlines are illegal.do that and keep us posted.

forgot two things.

1)check your court clerk's website using you as the defendent.if there is a case it will show it.(i'ts a guarantee that nothing will be there).btw they have had to sue you to have a summons so check on that.

2)now since this is illegal and you only owe the principle i have two more questions.
a)how much was borrowed
b)how much was debited prior to default

if line b meets or exceeds line a you owe nothing.just know bottomfeeding slime like national attorney's(i love how scum use names like national this,or federal that)will use the phone to try and scare money out of you.

Paul Thank you so much for your quick response
I have a few more questions.

(1) You are positive St.Armands is illegal in the state of Illinois
just want to make sure a $300 loan does not turn into $1500 with court cost
Is it possible they go by a different name in Illinois

(2) If charging court cost is illegal for a PDL in Illinois . Is it legal for a lawyer to charge court cost on the collection of the loan

The name of the company making the threat of the two summons is National Litigation and their phone number is 1-888-209-4825

I have paid back $335 of on a $300 loan

let's address all points.

1)st.armans is illegal as it is not based in the US.no foreign pdl is licensed.
2)national litigation is a scam as i have heard of them and they never do a thing they threaten.
3)if they would even have the nuts to sue you paid 335.00 on a 300.00 loan.no judge would rule in their favor.

file an AG complaint against st.armans and this scam.then do not worry about either place as again one is illegal and you overpaid, and one is a piece of garbage bottomfeeder that can do none of what they threaten.

Paul I can't thank you enough. I almost fell for the bait. I was literally hours away to agreeing to pay $300 dollars on top of the principle
If I did not check this site I would of paid it
I called National Litigation and asked for a website to make sure the company was legit. One person gave me [Link removed per Terms of Service] - OG1

I contacted national recovery and they told me they had no affiliation with National Litigation. I also let them know that they are threatening me with lawsuits and giving out their web address. I contacted a few others with National Litigation and they said they don't have a website. They do all their work internally. How can a company of national lawyers not have a web site?
