Hello everyone,

I just received an e-mail and spoke with somebody from FTC. I have given Ameriloan a chance to resolve my complaint and they ignored. We will see what will happen next.

I just think that these PDL companies regardless if the owner is an Indian Tribe shoud be regulated by the government and states. We are getting PDL to get a temporary relief in emergency cases but ended up trapped in PDL hole.

If we have plenty of money, we would not get PDL's anyway...

Pdls are a curse and if you fall into this debt trap, it will be difficult for you to get out of this trap. So, whatever your financial crisis is, it is always advised that you avoid taking out a payday loan. In case you have fallen into this trap, you should check out whether or not your payday lenders are licensed to operate in your state. If they are not licensed, then you will be liable for paying only the principal balance.

Savion is right. Ameriloan is an illegal pdl company. If all of your lenders are illegal, then you can get rid of this trap by paying back them only the principal amount. Illegal lenders can???t take any legal action against you. I hope you will never fall in this pdl trap in future.

Good luck!!

I have learned my lesson and learned the hard way.. I would never fall into pdls again. I also filed an FTC complaint regarding plaingreen. We want to pay it in full but after $600+ payment, they said we still owe $929.. On an $800 loan.

I am not planning to pay that amount. I would pay them $860.00 to follow NJ's 30% APR.

Thanks for the advice.

Neither of the lenders you mentioned are legal in NJ. PlainGreen argued with me for several months. I still owed them $120ish in principal. I finally got sick of them and told them that since they weren't willing to accept my generous offer of repaying the principal, which I was not obligated to do, that I just wouldn't pay them anything else.

I haven't heard from them since.

I will be filing a complaint as well against Ameriloan (and USFast cash there other affiliated company) as FL OFR did nothing re: my complaints to them (I was hoping for at least a cease and desist letter to them). I see FTC has ongoing investigations against them so at least they appear a little more interested.

Question I had -- do you have a valid mailing address for them as I have a thick packet to send them so much too large to file an email complaint.

Good luck!
