I have an IPDL out with a company called Online Advance. Their website is www.onlineadvance.com.

Are they even licensed to lend to people in my state (Maine)? If someone could let me know, I'd really appreciate it.

Just found a list online of several payday lenders that are licensed by the state of Maine & I don't see Online Advance/Cash Line on that list. So, since it looks like they in fact aren't licensed to lend to people in Maine, I should probably close my bank account so I don't have to worry about them making additional unathorized debits to my account (and of course reopen a new one that they don't have access to) & then email them my own version of that letter from this site, right?? Can I still do this even though I haven't made any payments at all to them yet?? I'm assuming that's that right thing to do but if anyone could confirm that for me and most importantly please confirm for me that they ARE in fact not supposed to be lending to Maine consumers I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!!

I'm feeling super nervous and stressed out.

Ohio Girl and/or anyone else on this board,
Are you guys 110% sure that OnlineAdvance.com/The Cash Line aren't licensed to loan to people in the state of Maine??
Like I said before, I didn't see them listed on that list of payday lenders that are licensed to loan to Maine consumers. However, just wanted to double check about that. For some reason, I'm feeling very nervous about how this place is going to react when they're not able to successfully debit my account later this week.

I'm scared that they'll leave me nasty voicemail messages and maybe even try and show up at my apartment and threaten me! I NEVER in a million years would have worried about them or any payday lender showing up at my home, but I was talking to my exbf recently and he was the one that put that idea in my head and he seemed concerned something like that might actually happen. :(

Have any of you dealt with this particular payday lender before? If so, what was their reaction like after you closed your account & they weren't able to debit money directly from your account anymore??

The Cash Line actually states on their site that they don't lend to residents of ME.

PDLs are prohibited in ME except by "supervised lenders." Supervised lenders must be licensed. Neither Onlineadvance.com and/or The Cash Line hold a license in ME.

If you're still worried, I suggest you contact the OCCR.
