and now I am getting harassing calls at work.

I thought they would at LEAST send a cease and desist letter to those companies (which then in turn I could send to the so called debt collectors for them), but all they sent me was a too bad so sad form letter stating illegal companies cannot collect in FL and to check my credit report frequently!

They did not even clearly state 'hey this company is illegal' so at least I could forward this to the involved companies myself.

I am very very disappointed in the handling of this as they never called me, emailed me to ask me further questions AND they could at least called/faxed the PDL companies in question a cease and desist letter. I was really expecting a little more especially as some people thought they were helpful.

A very disappointed FL resident!

Please...you really expected them to do the work for you??? It is a goverment agency...they collect data and then file lawsuits...they do not do this basic stuff for you.

If the loans are illegal, YOU send them the letters/emails, YOU do the disputing...You field the calls. They are not your attorney or legal representative.

I had a giggle Soaplady on your post as I work closely with a state agency & yep it's government work -- I think I was hoping at least they were sending one cease/desist letter to the PDL company - as one person claimed they did.

Question for you:
Here are the now pending PDL
*247greenstreet/Nothway - not concerned with as out of the country so clearly illegal and they could care less about any US/state regulations - just want them to leave me alone & I have sent my letters and now leaving them alone.

Leaving: 1) Summit/Vista; 2) YourFastpayday(tribal) and the ever known 3 and 4) Ameriloan/USfastcash/AMG/Miami Tribe

so,
is it wise to keep harassing them for my refund on my end (ie through letters and emails) say on a weekly basis {my refunds after principal is about 1k for Summit and your fast and over $5k - yes $5k for ameriloan/usfast}
OR
if they leave me alone, should I leave them alone.
{I am asking this as once posted this question & someone told me to LEAVE them alone - however, within one hour, this site quickly pulled that post where they said that, which made me wonder!!!}

thanks as in my 3rd week of this journey: bank accounts closed; letters sent; warned my possible references; and can change my home/cell # if needed (only cant change work)

They are collectors of information. If it gets to a point where they've collected enough complaints on a particular company, they may notify the FL AG and have him/her send a cease and desist letter.

That's why it's important to file the complaints. The more this is brought to light, the better.

File the complaints and send the letters to your lenders yourself (or emails).

As far as whether to continue, that's up to you. If you have the time to keep at them, you may eventually get your refund. If you'd rather forget about it and be content with the fact that they aren't taking any more of your money, then leave it be.
