i am in quite a jam. i have 8 pdls and have been paying every 2 weeks since late nov. i just can't do it anymore . i did pay one off completely but i can't keep up with the debits from account anymore. i did go to my bank today and asked them to stop the ach debits but that required me to fill out a dispute form. i told them i just wanted the ach debits to stop and that i had e-mailed 2 of the pdls to please stop and that the money would not be in my account, i also stated to the pdls that when they tried to take more than i expected last week it caused me to have a lot of $ in overdraft fees which i had to pay by monday so my account would not be closed . no one was paid last friday because the bank returned every ach attempt and charged me 37.50 per item . i have 4.00 left in my account after all the bank fees . sick to my stomache all week i finally went in to the bank today. these pdl people have been calling my work non stop since tuesday , plus my cell and house phone . i am afraid i will lose my job because these people are tying up the phone lines and taking up time from the people who have to answer the calls and they are told i am not there which was the truth and and 1 min. later they call back . what can i do to stop the work calls and threats at home ?

What is the name of the pdl companies? Are your lenders licensed in Ohio? If not, then you are required to pay them only the principal amount. Close your bank account asap to stop unauthorized withdrawal. Ask them to stop calling at your work. If required send them a Cease and Desist letter. After that if they are still trying to harass you, file a complaint against them to the SAG or FTC.

BLANKSPACE....have you read the Ohio laws??? You are only allowed one loan at a time, no rollovers and interest cannot exceed 28%.

To the poster
Read the payday loan laws for your state..

Then read how to deal with illegal loans.
