An example of an installment loan is a mortgage. I don't think mortgages are illegal in Ohio. You will have to pay back the principal plus accrued interest to your creditors.

I understand that PDL laws differ from Installment loan laws but logically speaking, wouldn't the loan contract be rendered null and void if the lender itself is not legally sanctioned to do business in the state?

Well going back to the loan and to the website nothing states that it is a installment loan, in fact it seems very much like my magnum loan that I was successful in taking care of by going through the steps of dealing with unlicensed lender, so I think it is a payday loan. Can anyone tell me for sure what Plain Green Loans is? I have read so many post on here about people being successful in handling this company as they are an illegal tribal lender, just want to get some facts straight as I have already paid principle on this loan and can't afford it anymore.
Plain Green
I live in NY, but I will tell you that dealt with them like I did all of my other illegal payday loans. I only paid back the prinical. They fought back for about 3 months, but I finally got a PIF letter last week.
I hope this helps.

Thank you Samantha! How bad were they at calling you? Such as did you recieve a lot of calls at work or what? This is going to be my first pissed payment from them so I'd like to be prepared.
Plain Green
They called me at work 3 times a day... :( They were calling my direct line, I just ignored it. I only talked to them via e-mail.

Thats not going to be fun to deal with :( I can handle it if they call my cell/home phone, I can block them on there but I can't do a thing about it if they call me from work, I may even get fired if they call me that many times a day there. From what I could tell I didn't sign a wage assignment with them but I'm not 100% did you have to give your HR deptartment a revoke wage assignment or did they not even bother?
for the love of pete
let me clear this up,and then advise what to do.plain green is a "tribal lender"meaning no matter what they call their loan it's illegal, and you only owe the principle.now you really need to file AG AND FTC complaints against plain green and anybody that attempts to collect.bottomline is that if they are calling your job you need to file those complaints, and ignore them,or if you get caught on the phone hang up without a word.last thing.plain green being tribal isn't legal in any state.

Woohoo!!!! I sent my letter to them on monday and today I recieved a response saying they considered my account paid in full and I'd hear no more from them! Victory is mine!! :)
