Western Sky/Cash Call in Nevada
Date: Wed, 03/07/2012 - 00:33
Cash Call is the same as other payday lenders right? I originally applied for Western Sky, and I have seen other stories go, they sold the loan to Cash Call. When you go to the Cash Call webpage, you can't even apply for a Cash Call loan if you live in Nevada. So I know that Western Sky is illegal, I called my AG's office and they said the problem with Tribal lenders is that the government can't touch them.
So I tried to reason with Cash Call, and that was a no go. I'm going to send them a letter stating that the Western Sky loan was illegal, Cash Call is illegal in Nevada, and therefore I will have no problem with paying back my principle of 1000, minus what I have already paid. Cash Call is reporting on my credit, so I know I'm going to have to let all three credit companies in on what's going on.
I know that Cash Call is going to be a pain in the butt....

The loan was originated by Western Sky and then sold to Cash Call. Both these lenders are illegal entities. Technically you don't owe them anything but on ethical grounds you should pay them back the principal amount that you had borrowed.

Maybe Nevada is not as strict in regards to illegal lenders. Both Colorado and Maryland have filed cases against Western Sky and Colorado is currently investigating CashCall. I have attached the links for the cases against Wester Sky. I know that the whole Western Sky issues is pretty much moot since you are dealing with CashCall at this point so what you may want to do is look up the installment loan laws for Nevada. In my state (Colorado) companies that are not licensed cannot charge interest rates higher than 12% for installment loans, which of course CashCall is waaaaaay exceeding. Good luck digging your way out of this hole, I think for many people in this forum CashCall is the last (and hardest) payday type loan to get rid of.
