This is regarding my PDL from Ace Cash Express (Storefront, in the state of CA)

I've been doing business with this local PDL from time to time untill I default on a loan back in 2009. The amout of the PDL I default on is $255 (This is the maxmuim that I can take out per CA Law).

A week ago I got a phone call from this company/firm USC stating that they are a "Process Server". Basically saying that they bought my debt from Ace Cash Express and if I don't pay now they will served me, taking me to court. The amount they are asking was $509 which I told them thats not what I owe. They call my work place many times in a day and at my parents house many times also looking for me. They actually left a voice mail on my supervisor phone. I spoke with a attorney before I called them back. The attorney I spoke with told me to ask them for debt validation because I disagree with them on the amount I owe. When I call them and spoke to one of their rep. and ask for a debt validation they refused to give me one. He transfer me to their so called "Process Server" and that lady told me that they are not a collection agency and they are in the process of serving me, this will only stop if i agreed to pay them $509. I didn't agree because i still don't believe what she was saying and ask her to send me a debt validation. I know that they are a collection agency and they are just lying to me. She just hung up and told me good luck and court.

I really want to take care of this debt but not with these kinda of collecter....

My question is what should I go about it to take care of this debt?

Can they really take me to court?

Blankspace....if you had bothered to read to original post you would have seen this is a storefront loan....those are always licensed. This is an issue of a CA breaking the law.

You have to DV in writing, disputing the validity of the debt since you are disputing the amount. USC?? is that the full name? Phone number? Tell them straight out you CANNOT take calls at work. I would also suggest filing a complaint with you state AG's office.

this is not about validation.this not about the legality of the loan.it's about a complete piece of crap that is breaking the law hand over fist.everybody called by this USC(i looked too and they are a piece of crap)needs file to police reports using any number,or info they were given.i also noticed the trend where "legal lenders"are selling debts to pieces of garbage rather than try to exercise their rights to collect.when these idiots call you at work hang up without a word.do not talk to them anymore.
