I would like to know if pay day loans are legal in NY. I currently have loans with redstone financial, loanshop, instant loans today and vip loanshop.
And how can i get them to stop taking money?

OK at this time i have submitted the ACH revoke notices to the PDL companies. At this time redstone financial has not responded to my email nor have they tried to take any money from my account. The same goes for instant loan today. So at this point I am wondering if they will start harrassing me with the phone calls. Please be advised the two PDL's mentioned, I have overpaid the principal amount.
VIPLoan shop has chosen to ignore the email and has tried to deduct funds from my account.

Loanshoponline responded to the email. However, with this company i have not paid the principal and has informed that i am willing to pay the principal in two payment provided they send me an address where the money order can be sent.

Does anyone have any advice on the next ssteps that i should take.

Well after taking all the advice from everyone. I got a refund check of $60 from one of the companies. the company on the check says Platinum finance company LLC and the bank that issued it is M&I bank. Has anyone received a refund check or have had one from this company?. I have read in some of the postings that if u do receive a refund check not to deposit into my bank account but to go to a check cash store. Thanks for any advice.

:DHello all. Again after following all of the advice. As i previously stated i received a refund check of $60 from one of the companies. I believe it was from Redston Financial. At first i was a little suspicious. So anyways i took it to the check cashing and guess what.. I was able to cash it.. Hopefully this is a victory for all of us who have been taken by these companies.. I still have a battle with Loan Shop online. VIPloan shop on line Instant loan on line.. Thanks all

Quote:

Yes, you are right. Don't take the check to the bank. If the bank clears the check and transfers the funds to your account, the PDLs are going to hook into the new account. Get it cashed elsewhere.

This advise is wrong. A...when you cash a check at YOUR bank there is no requirement to put your account number on it. When I worked at Wells, we were told that for security purposes you should not write your account number on check when cashing it. The bank thru the imprinting can trace it back to you if they need to but no one else can.
B..a PDL has no authorization for the new account even if the account number was written it. Any charge would be unauthorized subject to chargeback and fraudulent.

Hi all again i want to say thanks for the information that u are providing. I have not been on hre but i would like to give a brief update. As stated i received a $60 refund.. i am not sure if it was from instantloan or redstone financial.

VIPLOAN did try to take another $90 fee on 3/15/12 and was successful as i was not able to stop the payments even though i had sent out the ACH letters. They were the only ones who tried to get money. However, they must have tried again on 3/30/12 and was unsuccessful. They sent me an email as follows:

As for LSO- i acknowledge that i owe them a balance of $140 and has offered to pay them in the form of a money order. I requested that they send me information on where to mail the m/o. However, LSO continues to send me emails with Broken arrangements/LSO time for Action as the subjects from different representatives. I have not responded as i am tired of stating the same thing. I do want to make good on the principal owed, however, what is the best way to pay them off?

Cashing checks won't matter, if you do it at your bank. If you deposit the check into your account, that information or part of it can show on the back of the canceled check.

It's safer to cash it rather than deposit but, to be doubly sure, cashing at a check-cashing place is a good way to go, in my opinion.

If they get their hands on your account number, they'll try to get at your money again. Yes you can have it reversed, but if you can avoid the hassle altogether, that's always a better choice.

you mention loan shop debited 90.00 successfully then had one denied and they sent you that email.you said you had a balance of 140.00.does that take into acoount the 90.00?what i mean is did you deduct the 90.00 from the balance?meaning the 140.00 is what you owe.if you didn't deduct that 90.00 then you only owe 50.00.don't give these cretins an inch.

Hi let me just clarify that LSO and VIP are two separated PDL's. I hope this provides some clarification to your response.

Hi i am sorry that i am confused with your question. Maybe i am not understanding it correctly. But i will try again to clarify. With VIP i initially borrowed $300. From my original posting they had already deducted $360. since reading the postings, and sending out the ACH emails, they were successful with another debit on 3/15/12 as i could not get my account closed (I believe i did it backwards from the start-sent the letters out before closing my account), however by 3/30/12, i had did everything correct-closed accounts and secured a new bank account. On 3/30/12 they tried to get funds but was unable to and then they sent me the email that i previously posted. So yes they did get another $90 from me. Now they owe me $150 instead of the $60.

Again VIPloan and Loan shop online are two separate PDL's. With Loanshop online the principal amount was $200 and they only got to deduct $60 leaving me with a balance of $140 due to them. I hope that i have clarified and answered your question.

Again i want to say thanks for all the assistance. It felt so good to have my paycheck and do what i want to do with it...;)

Try this email
customerservice@redstonecash.com.

Please let me know if your get through. This is the address that i used. I did receive a $60 refund, but of course it did not have redstone on it.. The only thing that seemed lefit about it was the bank that it came from..The envelope that it came in had a different name than the issuer of the chek..but it did cash successfully.

good luck

alot of pdl's use more than one d/b/a so that more than likely is the case concerning your redstone refund.now you really never stated how much was debited/paid by vip,or loanshop so that is why i asked about the 90.00 debit.
