I have 5 payday loans out in Missouri. My bank is working with me to keep them from withdrawing on my account until I can make payment arrangements. I couldn't close the account, but my direct deposit is no longer going to that account. The following are the companies I am dealing with: Blue Star Result, Payment Direct, Zest Cash, QXLonline.com and Purpose Cash Advance. Are any of these illegal in Mo. and how should I proceed with them? My bank has advised me to send letters out to them so they could back me up with the stop payments. Please help! My credit score is suffering and it's becoming impossible to pay my normal bills. I've learned my lesson and never getting back in this trap again once it is cleaned up!
Payment Direct does not currently operate a public website for its customers
I went through the Missouri license database and Payment Direct is not listed in there which tells me that they are illegal, at least in Missouri. Payment Direct is Telmerica LLC which is Worldwide Cash Now . Go figure.

As for BlueStar, it seems highly illegitimate and I'm pretty sure they are not licensed in the state. There is no veritable phone number or website listed anywhere.

ZestCash claims to be a very short-term loan service which would technically disqualify them from being judged by PDL laws.

Quote:

QXL Online does not solicit customers directly nor does this website take direct applications. All applicants are received through affiliates, reviewed and offered a loan subject to contract and final underwriting approval. This offer does not guarantee final approval.

So it seems like they are just as suspicious as the rest.

Purpose Cash Advance is licensed to operate in 5 states including Missouri. One of the more up-front PDLs I have seen.

Except for the last one, I couldn't find any of the lenders in the license database.
