I disputed the entry for CashCall with both Equifax and Experian, as these are the two reports on which it is listed. Equifax is still investigating the dispute but Experian completed the dispute requrest on March 9 and the dispute status is that the account remains.

I am so frustrated! I know that this lender is illegal otherwise they would not be getting investigated by my state's AG office. As long as they are on my credit report, I seriously feel like I have no choice but to pay them. Since they are unlicensed, they are not supposed to charge interest above 12% so should I call and try to negotiate them to lower the interest rate? Has anyone ever been successful in getting a CashCall account removed from credit? If so, what reason did you use to dispute the account? Any help is appreciated, feeling stuck....

I received my Equifax's (nothing from Experian yet) report today saying this is valid with an the option for another investigation. I have no idea how an ILLEGAL operation that did not provide the funds to start with or run your credit can report on your credit report.

I'm thinking I might contact my AG and see what can be done about it because it seems highly unethical and dare I say illegal.

Please post if you find any new information!

Did you share your state's laws, AG info etc, with the credit bureau?

Yes. The laws for installment loans in my state sitpulate that if a lender is not licensed, interest rates in excess of 12% are illegal. I have also been working directly with the Uniform Consumer Credit Code department at the AG's office so I know for a fact that CashCall is currently being investigated by the AG. I stated all of this information in my dispute along with the fact that I have filed complaints with my AG and the FTC. No clue how this is allowed to stay on my credit report. It's still showing as current so obviously I'm not just trying to scam the credit bureau to remove negative items, I just don't want to deal with this shady company anymore but my employer checks credit so I seriously have no choice but to pay this as long as it's showing up.

If anyone has been successful in removing CashCall, I would LOVE to know how it was accomplished.

Have no experience with Cash Call, specifically.

However, it has been my experience that most Lenders (especially those that know they cannot legally collect in your State) would be happy to get their principle back.

Make sure you correspond in writing when you get a deal for settlement.
They must state, in writing, what amount they are settling for, the payment terms and dates and that they will report you to the credit Agencies as 'Paid in Full' upon completion.

If they don't report as promised you will be able to submit the written agreement with copies of your cancelled checks.

Good Luck.

This is old but I'm bumping it because I didn't really get any answers the first time around. Has ANYONE been successful in getting these mutts off of their credit report?!? I disputed this with both Experian and Equifax back in February. Whatever investigation they did took 30-45 days but they both found that Cashcall is valid. As such, I have essentially been forced to continue paying on this illegal loan in order to not destroy my credit which I am desperately trying to repair. As of Friday, I have paid $2, 052 on what was essentially a $1,000 loan and it is not scheduled to be paid off until October 2013. I sent them ANOTHER email today citing how much I paid and letting them know that I have filed a complaint with my AG and the FTC and requesting that my account be considered PIF as of today.

So, if anyone has gottent these scum off of their credit, PLEASE tell me how!!!

Is there someone you can talk to in the office of the ftc!? Why is it so hard to get something like illegal lenders off a credit report? I sent out my letter to cash call, and tomorrow is D day.

I too am trying to rebuild my credit, and I don't want anything else dragging it down. Where can I find something to state Nevada laws to the CRAs? Also, here in NV, the Nevada financial institutions division handles complaints like this, not the AGs office.

Where do I go from here?

CALL CALL CALL your AG's office and CALL CALL CALL the FTC. They need more complaint to push for a class action law suit against Cash Call. They don't file for individuals this is why they NEED more people to file complaint instead of wasting your time here on a blog site, call or email them because they are desperately waiting to attack Cash Call before it's too late. I know this because I have INSIDE info which I prefer not to share in public. Stop wasting your money by giving it to cash call.

I have just filed complaints with NC Attorney General, FTC, and the NC Banking Commission (apparently Cashcall is licensed as a mortgage broker, but not for consumer loans).

They haven't reported lates yet to Experian and Equifax (they don't show on TransUnion), but threatened to do so today if they don't get my Oct installment.

NC Banking Commission just sent a letter to them today, but still waiting for AG and FTC. Once I get them, I am going to battle to get them off my credit reports. I will keep you informed of my progress.

I am in the same boat with Cash Call reporting on my credit report (Experian/Equifax) for illegal Western Sky loan.....I have disputed with the CRAs and they both came back "verified". As of this month it went negative and brought my score down 40 points. I even have correspondence from Western Sky's attorneys stating that it was assigned to WS Funding, LLC - not sold as they tried to make be believed. There was no mention of Cash Call at all by their attorneys. Interestingly at the same time I got that response I got a letter from CC trying to get me to sign a Modification Agreement with CC (not WS) and allowing them to pull my credit, contact employer, etc. Of course I rejected it. I have overpaid this way over $1,100 and am not paying another dime. How can CC legally report this debt? They don't own it, they weren't assigned it (according to WS's attorney), what am I missing? I contained all this information in my dispute with CRAs. Any thoughts on where to go next? I filed complaints with AG and FTC against WS and CC and that doesn't seem to matter with the CRAs. So frustrating!!!

Don't give up. Send the credit agencies another letter, stating that you do not agree and restate your case. Ask that how they verified an 'illegal loan' being reported by CashCall who doesn't even own the loan, etc. Attach your letters from attorney general (and any other agencies where a complaint was filed) AND STATE THE FOLLOWING:

This is a request under FCRA 611(a)(7) for a description of the procedure used by you in providing all information to the creditor associated with my dispute under FCRA 611(a), including the business name and address of the furnisher of information contacted, and if reasonably available the telephone number.

More specifically, under the provisions of FCRA 611(a)(2)(B), you were required to have forwarded all relevant information I provided by you to the creditor for their investigation of my dispute. I request identification of any information that you choose not to forward to the creditor, and whether you used the automated E-Oscar process.

Response to this request is required, under FCRA 611(a)(7), within 15 days of this request.

Susan that is awesome! It's amazing to me all the hidden tools of the trade that are out there for consumers to fight back with. I hope this works out for people. You would think ongoing litigation with Western Sky and Cash Call would prompt the bureaus to stop reporting them.

So, the saga continues with CC. It stays on my credit report dispite my disputes, complaints, etc. Now, I get a letter from CC stating that they will "charge off" loan as of Jan 31st and forward to a collection agency. I have until 5:00 p.m. on Jan 31st to call to work out arrangement. I've overpaid more than $1,100 on this loan so there really is no arrangement.....So, I'm trying to figure out whether I try to negotiate some sort of lump sum payment with them in exchange for them removing from credit report or allowing it to be charged off. My credit report has already taken a huge hit due to their reporting it past due, etc. so I'm not sure what to do at this point to keep from this damaging me even further. Anyone have experience with this or any thoughts on how I move forward?

Congrats! Good news for you. There are some states that stand up for their consumers. Unfortunately, I live in a state that pockets too much money from the payday lending lobbyists so no help from the state agency in charge of protecting consumers. Do you have any update on your battle to get CC off your credit report? This has been my struggle for several months now and I am on my third round of disputes with Equifax and Experian. I just don't understand how it is they can report illegal loans. This is the only negative item on my credit report and it has killed my score so much. I am considering hiring a credit repair company to see if they can do anything to get them off, but I hate having to pay for something that I should be able to do myself.

Cash Call is reporting my interest owing on my credit report. Has anyone figured out how to get it removed from the Credit report?
