Does anyone know Erin Koch?

Did Erin tell you the purpose of the call? He must clear the reason of the call and the name of the company for which he is calling.

Erin has no rights to yell at you or disturb you at your place of work. If you notify your refusal to be contacted at work, he must stop calling you. But for that, you have to know the name of the company first. Try to talk to him and get his details.

his exact words were,"I represnt GetCashNow." I asked what company was he with, he said he is in his company's prelegal dept. Then he started yelling stop playing games, I asked that he do not contact me at work and yelled he is verifying my employment. I hung up, he called back. I asked for his number so i can have my attorney call him, he yelled You do not have an attorney." So I hung uo again. He called again, and I did not pick up. He did not leave a voicemail.

Sorry to hear of your recent troubles with Mr. Koch. Might I suggest the next time he calls, explain to him that for your records all incoming calls are being recorded. From there you can either ask for validation of debt to be mailed to you, or to cease telephone contact (which you've already done). Most companies feel the need to be rough with the debtors to get them to pay, but when all they do is upset the debtors it seems that nothing will ever get done.

GetCashNow is also the same as MyCashNow. There customer service # is 866-398-2274. Perhaps you could call them, and find out who handles their collection for unpaid loans, and speak with a supervisor in that department.

Erin Called again this morning. This time to check and see if I was at work so I can be arrested for bank fraud. He had someone else ask for me then he got on the telephone. I have no idea what he think he is trying to do. But I did notice that he was calling from an 904 area code number. I did not write down the number. I think it is the same company that called me before and I was not frighten by their vague threats.

The threats of arrest, fraud, etc are getting rediculous. How can we the people get a stop put to this and get the right people to listen. Don't they realize that threats only make the situation worse?

There is no violation if a collection agency is verifying employment. But, if you notify them in writing not to contact you at work, they must follow it.

Send a cease and desist letter to the company's mailing address so that the federal jurisdiction gets applied on them. If they call you further, you can file charges for violating the fdcpa.

He will not tell me what company he works for.

He has called me, too. He told me today he was with a company called Recoveries of America but I cannot find them anywhere on the Net. Does anyone know how to get an address for them? The phone number is 904-356-0886.

The number, 904-356-0886, that is calling you is Preligations of America (according to the thread below). I am assuming they have since changed their name, but apparently have been operating under the same number since September. During that time, however, was when Ted Crosby was issuing threatening phone calls. In another thread, a member stated they believed it was Crosby's associates doing the calling with that number.

Could you please be a little more detailed in your entry. Are you now sharing with us the new address for Ellis Crosby, or Prelitigations of America?

The original post asked where Aaron Koch worked, and provided a phone number that came back as Prelitigations of America. I'm trying to keep this thread as "non-confusing" as possible.

prelitigations has been harraing me as well, they have been calling my work and telling me they are going to have me arrested and that need to send the full amount to them now....however they will not send me any paerwork as to why I owe sooo much or who they are collecting for. THey told me when I asked them for paper work that by law they can not send me anything. Then they told me that I am going to be arrested if I did not have the money to them by 530. They were very rude a refused to listen to anything I had to say, so I told to go ahead with legal action if they must because I will not pay a penny until I know why and who they are.

Do you accually owe any money or is this a fraud attemt?

Bethany, stick to your move. You should not pay anything until Prelitigations send the details in writing. You need to know the name of the company for which they are collecting. Apart, you can get in touch with the original company and work out arrangements with them if the debt is legitimate.

I called an attorney's office in FL today who has been handling cases for people against Ellis Crosby and Prelitigations of America. I was told that Prelitigations of America has filed for bankruptcy. They cannot have you arrested. At this point, I don't know if they can even try to collect from you legally. As with many of you, they refuse to provide me with a mailing address or even validate my "debt".

If they've only filed for bankruptcy in FL, does that affect people in other states theyre harassing? How would I find out if they're legally still allowed to try and collect debts?

Ash, the state attorney general office in your area will be able to tell if the company is allowed to do legal collections in the state after filing bankruptcy.

They have struck again and this time they are using the telephone number 1-800-435-9660 if this information can be helpful that is why when I heard the investigations department I immediately hung up. And also there is a guy or gal named Sandy so beware they are at it again.
