I live in tn & have 5 internet pdl's. Loans are only legal here if company is licensed some place else. Are beacon loans, ck marketing, e cash advance, gentle breeze & 123 wages legal in America? I'be had each loan for awhile & have been principle back if they are illegal. I want my paycheck back. Thanks.

Contact with Tennessee Department of Financial Institutions in order to know whether or not your lenders are licensed in TN. If not, then you are required to pay only the principal. Ask them for the refund, if you have paid them more than principal. But, if they are legal, then you are bound to pay both the principal and interest. In such a case, you may get help from a reliable debt relief company.

As far as I can tell, all the 5 PDLs are illegal or unlicensed in the state of Tennessee. Just verify their license status from the TN Department of Financial Institutions website. It has a license database.

As for refunds, send them a letter stating that you know that they are illegal and demand a check for the excess amount to be sent to your address. If they refuse, file a complaint with the AG and the FTC.

Ok thanks. I've contacted my dept of financial institutions here & had to leave a message. Not sure how long its going to take to get a response from them. I went on the website but couldn't find the database you were speaking of. I wish I could find proof fast, not to discredit you guys, but I know when they dont get their money, I'm going to get plenty of calls & attitudes. I would just like to have proof of this.

I sent the letter out to beacon, 123 wages, Gentle Breeze (fax), e-cash advance. I did not for ck marketing yet. I have got new account numbers as well as pay to put a debit block up against these companies. My payday has come and gone & e-cash advance & gentle breeze is still sending emails while ck marketing is calling my job & leaving messages. They say the next step will be to call my employer as this was a breach of contract. As far as i know & checked Tn's website for legal lenders they are illegal here. Is there still some type of way they can varnish me? I have honored the principal & then some so they owe me. My question is will they really contact my employer or is this just a scare tactic?

Came home today and had a letter from CK Marketing's legal department. I thought illegal companies did not do snail mail? I checked my state's website.....again & still didn't see this company. I'be read through some threads & have come to the conclusion that this is one of the more aggressive companies. Does anyone have feedback or a "success" story dealing with these people?

Ck marketing called my job & claimed that even though they aren't licensed in tn they can still garnish me b/c I signed the papers and they are legal in delaware. Is thistrue? She sounded very confident that she could by telling me to look it up. I gave my hr dept wage revocation. I read another thread on here from someone saying they still garnished them in california after completing the process. Should I work with them? I have paid principle & then some.

They can sue you but your defense will be that they are not licensed in your state. It's highly unlikely they would sue because they'd be showing up to court as an illegally operating lender. See?

If you've done the wage assignment revocation and shared it with your employer, any attempts they make at garnishing your wages should be blocked. Be clear with your employer that this was a voluntary wage assignment that you have revoked so it is no longer valid.
