'Legal Recovery Systems' - anyone know about these guys?
Date: Thu, 04/12/2012 - 15:31
Some background: I had some payday loan issues a few years ago, you can read up on the history in these threads:
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/dealing-with-pdls.html#365537
http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/about48532.html?nojs=1
I know about half of my original loans have been eliminated for sure, but every once in a while, one of the hangers-on will try contacting me to get more than they're owed. No one has succeeded yet.
Today, I got a phone call and a message left from "Tony Lindman(?)" from "Legal Recovery Systems" . The phone number was 386-255-0393. The message stated "Hello Mr. _____, we work with a number of companies here in the state, and we help them recover on past due accounts, bad checks, stop payments, like the one you've totally frustrated your efforts on. I've sent a message to your email address. Give me a call when you can."
The phone number has a Daytona Beach area code. I checked my email addresse(s), and saw no email from these guys, but I did find a website for Legal Recovery Systems in Daytona Beach: http://legalrecoverypros.com/. I haven't returned their call.
So, anyone dealt with these guys before, and any idea what I might expect? Should I even bother calling them back (I'm thinking 'no').
you betcha
another lawbreaking turd.see if you can block that number the next time he calls,or now.just know that he is garbage that needs to be reported and ignored.if i had a dime for ever mutated cat hairball,or turd like this that use the terms like federal, legal, litigation, etc.i could retire.again block if you can then report and ignore.just another bottomfeeding collection loser.
Hi, I think you should immediately file complaints with the AG
Hi,
I think you should immediately file complaints with the AG and the FTC against this particular collection agency. If the harassing calls keep coming in, you should consider filing a police complaint as well. The above poster is right on the mark when he says that you should block the number and ignore the calls in case they start calling from another number.
Cheers,
Nate
Curiouser and curiouser...
Well, this is interesting....
I finally did find an email in one of email accounts, reading as follows:
" Subject: Exclusive Debt Recovery Program (attached info pack)]

Hello ____, Got any debt out there?
This is Terry Nandal with the firm of Legal Recovery Systems, Inc. I have attached our company's information packet. Please download the document, fill out pages 3 and 4 to the best of your knowledge and either fax or email them back to me along with any supporting documents such as invoices, contracts, lease agreements, judgments, etc. If you are starting us off with multiple cases we may be able to work off of your invoices rather than you filling out a Client Account Placement Form for each case. I only need one agreement on file with your company no matter how many cases you send. Our fax number is 877-702-8700. As soon as you get this paperwork back to me I will turn over the case(s) to one of our collections agents and we will begin working on recovering your money immediately.
Respectfully,
Terry Nandal

So, they are approaching me as someone who looking to COLLECT on debt, rather than a debter...
I do have a small side business, but I have no outstanding debts involved with it, and I certainly am not located in Florida. Perhaps this is some sneaky, sneaky means of gathering intel on me for a PDL company that hired them? Or maybe it's just old fashioned mistaken identity? Hmmmm....
In any case, I will not be contacting them back.
i chalk it up as
criminal stupidity.they most likely got your bus info and never looked to see who you are.these bottomfeeders really don't have a clue.this is proof of that.delete it with a laugh.
losers........
I worked there for a short time and I can tell you NOT to hire them to collect any debts for you. They will get you to sign a contract, call people who owe you by way of harassment, collect the $ and you will never see any of it, they will keep it all and you will never even know that the person who owed you paid. Trust me I use to do the checks and he (Haywood Merritt) does not like to pay his debts. Basically he is making 100% profit. He also used to be involved with RPS out of Orlando, which the feds are trying to shut down............
