Do the people that are calling you have thick accents? If so it may be the Indian scammer people. Does VIP's number come up on your caller id? I had the Indians call me a few times before I realized they were a scam.

Wrong...they most certainly could file a lawsuit. It would be the debtors defense that the debt is illegal, that the creditor has come to the court with dirty hands.
