Lender Discharged w/C7 & Credit Report
Date: Wed, 05/02/2012 - 20:25
My mortgage was discharged in my C7, even though I'd requested and signed (through the atty) my intent to reaffirm. The lender did not send the affirmation pkg as requested and I didn't know (at the time) one was required to be signed before the judge at the final hearing. I continued paying my mortgage. When I pulled a credit report, I noticed my mtg had been discharged - I disputed. I contacted the lender they said I was no longer financially obligated though they still held the lien. Now I find they're still pulling 'hard' credit reports. Why? If I am no longer financially responsible, no longer living in the home, why are they pulling credit reports? Are they allowed to do so?
