I'm assuming I'm receiving these calls as a result of dealing with the a-holes at MyNextPaycheck. I received a lovely (private/blocked) call from one "Jan Warner" stating service of process, writing bad checks, blah, blah, blah. All the usual BS they spew trying to scare folks. Little does she know I have worked in the legal field for years. I know how to look at my court's docket system to see if anything has been filed against me. Of course there hasn't. LOL

Anyway, Jan Warner called and left this number: 888-208-2788 stating that I can call the number to work with them. I got a call from another number - 980-321-9500 - but they didn't leave a voice mail. I have the information for the 980 number and will send a cease & desist (not that that's going to work, I'm sure). I Googled the first number but I'm not having much luck finding any info. Maybe someone out there is a bit more deft in finding this information out.

Thanks!

I blocked my cell phone number and called the 888 number. The recording said thanks for calling Providence. Of course, since Providence is a big city in RI, it's hard for me to try to track this place down.

I did the same for the other number but the connection was awful and could not understand anything the woman who answered the phone said.

I received the same call today. A Jan Warner claiming that I would be served today at home or work for passing bad checks and internet bank fraud. I called the number she provided and the woman I spoke to said that she could not provide me the address of the "Providence Company" for security reasons. She implied that I would be served but also said that she did not work for a law firm, nor was she an attorney. She seemed quite annoyed that I was not intimidated by her and abruptly ended the call with "Good Luck". I anticipate they may act as a nuisance, but since they are attempting to collect on an illegal internet payday load (CP Investors), that nothing further will come of it.
