How much longer do I have to wait for this to disappear? Can they sue me still? Is this just another hardball tactic on a debt collection agency?

Yup, SOL would be 6 years under written contract. You would have signed a financial responsiblity contract with the dental office. Yes they can sue you...and you would be responsible for the court and legal costs which could be $500-$1000.

Most creditors tend not to sue until closer to the end of the SOL. Suing takes work as does the collection after the judgment. Papers for garnishment of wages have to go thru the courts and bank levy papers have to be served.
