What happens when there is absolutely no money to pay off credit card debt due to long illness ending in death of one spouse and leaving the other on very fixed income. This combined credit card debt is approx 10,000 and four years old. Initially collections agencies were calling all hours for approximately 2 years then stopped, and just recently started up again in the last week - is this because the statute of limitations is close to expiring. I reside in Florida, I think the SOL is 5 years.
Send them a cease and desist letter....or file bankptcy.
