Collector KD Removal date
Date: Thu, 05/31/2012 - 11:10
I have a KD from a debt collector from January of 2006. They say this is when they opened the collection account. The account has been paid for several years. My understanding was that it should be removed from my account from the date of original delinquency. The original delinquency to the original creditor was way more than 7 years ago. can i fight to have this removed since the original delinquency to the original creditor was more than 7 years ago?
Thanks,

Usually negative items remain on your credit report for 7 years from the date of your first default. After 7 years it will automatically be removed from your credit report. If it still remains on your credit report, then immediately contact with the credit bureaus and inform them.
