I would like to know if payday loans are illegal in md and if so can they be stopped from taking money from my bank account

Yeah???payday lending is illegal in Maryland. You are required to pay only the principal, since all lenders are illegal here. I think it would be better for you to close your bank account and open a new one.

(410) 230-6100, [EMAIL="finreg@dllr.state.md.us"]finreg@dllr.state.md.us[/EMAIL] They are a great help in dealing with payday lenders. I am a resident of MD and had payday loans and they have helped me and are investigating lenders that I have used. It takes time but well worth it. Good luck!
