how long can a creditor persue a debt?

i have recieved a writ of garnishment for medical bills over 10 years old that belong to my ex husband. is there a statue of limitations as far as how long they can harrass a person?

If you receive a writ of garnishment, somewhere along the line you were sued. Suing you, depending on your state, can extend the SOL up to 20 years.
Did you receive a summons??? Have you pulled a copy of your credit report?????
