Served papers in nc?

I got a call from a lady saying i would getting served papers for my loan from mycashnow. her name was sandra leggins. not sure if that last name is right. The company she told to call if i wanted resolve this is westpoint associates. I do owe the payday loan 500.00 and im willing to pay it. They say i owe 2800.00 can i really be taken to court or are they full of it?
