I live in California by the way.
Calls
When I sent my emails, i requested they contact me only via email or postal mail. I had one lender call me once and left me a msg. I immediately sent them an email to not call me and they stopped. There's no guarantee that your lenders will not call you, but you can request they only contact you via email. Don't forget to file complaints with FTC and CA DOC.
Just inform your HR department that you are dealing with illegal
Just inform your HR department that you are dealing with illegal payday lenders and that any calls of the nature asking for you while you are at work should be completely ignored. That should take care of that.
As for Ameriloan and the other illegal lenders, send out the letters now (whatever you do, don't fall for that choice of law BS), ask for a refund if you have overpaid and file complaints with the FTC and the AG.
