calling wrong person

My question is, how the heck do you call these collections agencies off when they are calling the wrong number? I got my first cell phone in January of 2007 and, within a month, calls from debt collectors started rolling in for a certain individual. I'm not him. I don't know him. I ignored the messages and they did not stop. I called them back and notified them of their error and they stop for a time then start up again after 6 months or so. Brachfeld is the most recent one calling over and over again. It's 2012. The calls to my phone started in 2007. It's been 5 years folks. This dude ain't gonna pay and you are calling the wrong darn number to boot. So, again, how do I get my phone number disassociated from this individual as I'm assuming this debt keeps getting sold over and over and my number comes up as his last contact information.

Or you could take the long shot and send a C&D letter to the collectors. If they call again after receiving it, you can sue.
