Old unpaid debts, closed accounts, charge offs, etc. What you need to do is draw a hard copy of your report from one of the leading CRAs like Equifax or Experian. It would a lot more detailed report. As far as repairing your score is concerned, you can start of by opening a secured credit card account and making timely payments against it.
P.S: Try to use a maximum of 50% of the card's limit. This would do miracles in the long run. 30 to 50 percent credit usage limit on every card you own should do the trick.
